Artemis III

Artemis III is currently about 6,871 kilometres from Earth, or 0.000 astronomical units, which puts a one-way radio signal 1 seconds out. It is 1.010 astronomical units from the Sun.

A crewed shakedown in Earth orbit, and the dress rehearsal for a landing. Orion will rendezvous and dock with test versions of the commercial lunar landers, check out life support and propulsion while docked, and put the new spacesuits through their first orbital tests.

Targeted for 2027. The landing itself moved to Artemis IV in 2028.
